If confirmed, a metallic core open to our investigation could be quite interesting. Sitting in open space and with such a weak gravitational field, we could probable drill a core through the entire thing.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

The google guys (Larry and Sergei) have an asteroid mining venture...
