Galaxy Zoo update
The most recent example has to do with Hubble galaxy classifications at Zooniverse. The Royal Astronomy Society just published a new paper using data from the Galaxy Zoo citizen science project:
"The Royal Astronomical Society has written a press release on a new discovery using your classifications. Researchers led by Prof. Karen Masters used Galaxy Zoo data to show that there's no obvious link between spiral arm tightness and bulge size - contrary to decades of astronomy textbooks!"

I've participated in four JPL asteroid star occultations while living the the desert southwest... Much fun and you get to use some really cool equipment.

Re: Galaxy Zoo update
I did the search for planet #9 (Backyard worlds) and Exoplanets. Both are back up and running again after a hiatus (they make me cross-eyed).
I love Galaxy Zoo!
I just read this morning that Exoplanets was up to 4303!
