not mentioned is that around 80% of the Gaia parallaxes have error bars of 50% or greater - especially true of the fainter stars (fainter than Visual magnitude 15) and stars more than a few hundred parsecs distant. (this from playing around with the Gaia catalog, though I seem to remember articles making comparable statements).

Good to see New Horizons still doing science.

I wonder if they will identify another space rock for a flyby?
