It's not 12 hours on one target it is a couple of hours on several targets.

About the orientation I put pieces of masking tape across the 'joints' and put a mark on the tape with a sharpie. I then cut the tape across the 'joint'. Next time all I have to do is line up the marks for the same orientation.

Dont know why you are collimating for each session. Once set it should stay set unless your rolling your OTA down a hill or something
