Twilight 1 arm vibration "fix"

#1

Post by pakarinen »

I finally got around to firing up my table saw and cut a couple of wooden plates today to go on the arm of my Twilight 1. I used 12mm Baltic birch plywood which turned out to be a tad too thick. I probably should have bought 10mm. Oh well, it's not a beauty contest. Screwed the two plates together with #8 machine screws and lock nuts. I suppose I should paint the ply to protect it, but that's another day.

Damping time hasn't been horrendous, but this is supposed to cut it down, especially when focusing.

But it's clouds, clouds, clouds for another week or so, so it'll be awhile before I can field test it.

I didn't get around to taking any, but here's pretty much what I did (except for paint). See Post #1
