I have a Meade 2045D 4" f/10 telescope and I want to buy a Meade f/6.3 Reducer for it. The scope has a 1.25" visual back with outside threads. The reducer has outside and inside threads on it, but I am not sure if the inside threads are the right size or if they are to attach to the outside threads of the visual back. My question is: does anyone know how I would attach the reducer on the scope? Pictures below:

Refractors: Meade AR-5 127mm f/9.3, Meade ST-80 f/5 and Meade 60mm f/11.7. Classic Refractors: Jason 60mm f/15 #313, Jason f/11.7 #306 S7, Bushnell Sky Chief III 60mm f/15. Reflectors/Catadioptrics: Meade 10" F/4 Schmidt-Newtonian, Galileo 120mm f/8.3 Newtonian, Meade 2045D 4" f/10 SCT, Meade ETX-90EC f/13.8 & Sarblue 60mm f/12.5 Maksutov-Cassegrains. Mounts: Skywatcher EQ6-R Pro & Meade LXD55 Equatorial mounts, ES Twilight II and Meade 2102 ALT/AZ mounts, a modified 10" SkyQuest Dobsonian mount, various 60mm EQ mounts. Misc: Celestron 20x80mm binoculars, Revolution II Imager/accessories, & lots of optical accessories/eyepieces. Projects: 8" f/2.9 and 65mm f/10 reflectors, Dobson-style binocular mirror mount.
So the order from SCT to eyepiece is as follows: SCT-REDUCER-VISUALBACK. The wider threads will attach directly to the backend of the SCT and then the visual back will attach to the smaller threads of the reducer.
do you have a link to the reducer ? also what is the diameter on the scopes back end, ie the "sct thread" i see a threaded 1.25'' adapter you have that screws onto the sct. a good tool to have is a thread pitch gauge.

Thank you, that makes more sense than how I had it figured. For some reason, I was thinking the reducer went between the visual back and the diagonal!

The reducer is used and for sale on Cloudy Nights classifieds. I measured my visual back on the 4" SCT with a tape measure in inches and then transposed it to millimeters, not very accurate I know! My best guess is 47.63 mm for the male threads on the OTA where the visual back screws on to the OTA. On the eyepiece side where the diagonal is inserted, I measured 33.34 mm for the male threads there. I really don't know what use it is for except maybe some type of camera connection? The diagonal does not screw into it. I use a regular diagonal that just inserts like an eyepiece would. I have the original instruction manual for the scope, but strangely enough there is no information about the thread sizes.

Unfortunately, the reducer just sold on Cloudy Nights. These come up for sale from time to time and the only reason I have never bought one is because I wasn't sure how they connected!
