DST heebie jeebies part two

Hello everybody,

Two nights ago in a different location, Edisto Beach SC I set up and adjusted the Alt. angle to 32 -/+ degrees to match Polaris's location in the sky. I changed to location to Charleston the closest city listed, double checked the time/date it was just as it was back at home days ago. Two star alignment, 4 star calibration and ASPA all went perfect, stars were almost dead centered in the cross hairs. The battery was fresh, fully charged, all the clutches were tight....I couldn't find the reason it worked almost perfect compared to the last time.

My question this time though is....if I can do really good at going right too a chosen star while setting up the Bubble Nebula NGC 7635 was almost out of sight at the bottom left corner. If it hadn't have been seen I always go a precise goto, that helps but why was it off to begin with?

Three things come to mind:
1) I hate to ask this but was DST set to off?
2) Did you use a reticle EP for centering during the alignment and calibration procedures?
3) Did you finish all your centering moves during the alignment and calibration using just the UP and RIGHT buttons?

Lastly, even though you might do all these things, sometimes, I swear, there is a level of "vaguery" in the "goto" algorithm that I have as yet to figure out!

1) Yes both times.
2) Yes I use a Reticle EP to get started but finish up using Sharpcap Pro reticle on my laptop screen.
3) Yes sir I do and I start over if I have to.
