Does wind mess up solar as bad as it messes up night time observing?Ylem wrote: Wed Jan 29, 2025 4:37 pm It's 50F at noon, but real high winds. I'm hoping for some solar today![]()
I think so, especially if the scope isn't steady.
Buckeye Chuck says spring in on the way.RitcheyPark wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2025 12:46 am Well durn it. Punxsutawney Phil saw his
shadow today. Six more weeks of poor observing weather.
No matter what they say, the calendar says 6 more weeks of winter lol. I will say the long range does show it to be a bit more mild then normal for FebruaryRitcheyPark wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2025 12:18 pm Well then I guess we'll have to hope Phil is wrong and Chuck is right.
3 cheers for Buckeye Chuck!!
I will pass on Arizona lol. At some point tonight we are supposed to get up to two tenths of an inch of ice. That will make things interesting in the morningRitcheyPark wrote: Wed Feb 05, 2025 10:16 pm No solar here in southern Ohio either Mike.
Our skies look identical.
I can only describe the weather conditions here as cold, damp, windy, cloudy, and just
plain miserable as they say. And a freezing rain has just started. Any type of observing
is only a pipe dream. Oh well. It's not our fault
we were born here. I suppose we could have moved to Arizona.
