Today while browsing a local antique store in Point Pleasant, NJ I found a pair of Sears 7x35 in amazing condition.
Beautiful case, with original lense covers and in perfect collimation. 25 usd
They weigh almost the same as my modern 9x63

Very cool Jeff; love the retro look to them. I'd say those are a well-deserved bithday gift to yourself! Bet they're made in Japan too, probably good quality!
Hope they work as well as they look,

I thought they'd be made in Japan. Tasco, Jason and a lot of "department store" scopes had glass made by Towa. On a lot of these the objectives were good/very good, but suffered from crappy .965 eyepieces. At least with the bino's you don't have the eyepiece problem!
Not surprised there was no CA either

Very cool. Back in the day my dad sold insurance for Allstate which at the time was owned by SEARS. We had lots of SEARS products around our house and the Christmas catalog was always well worn by Dec. 25th each year. We had the exact same binos growing up. Not sure what ever happened to them because I didn't run across them when cleaning out my parent's home after he passed.
Very nice find! Typically from the 70-ties! Especially with those decorative strips on the eyepiece holders.
Round about half a century old!
It wouldn't surprise me if they have a field of 10 or more degrees. At the time a widefield was considered more important than sharpness at the edge. That, like the 7x35 configuration , was fashion in those days.

Ou guys that walk into antique/thrift stores and find quailty optics.... i hate you all lol. I never find anything good in those places.
I have that bad luck at garage sales, usually just socket sets missing sockets and old children's clothing, and maybe a broken Walgreens scope

I have only had luck at garage sales twice. Once i got a really good deal on a Fluke multimeter and the second a widow was selling her husbands guns. I couldnt bring myself to give her what she was asking for her husbands M1 Garand. I told her to put that back in the house and got her in touch with my gunsmith who sold it for her for 15x what she was asking for it.
