New ATLAS Comet

#1

Post by Graeme1858 »

A BIG NEW SUNGRAZING COMET: Astronomers are monitoring a new sungrazing comet discovered just a few days ago by the ATLAS survey. It appears to be unusually big, and could become a significant naked-eye object by the end of October. Experts say if it survives its close encounter with the sun--a big IF--it could rival Comet Lovejoy in 2011 (pictured below). Updates @ Spaceweather.com.

Awesome, my duaghter and I have been watching this one closely since its discovery.

Increases the odds of seeing an unclouded naked eye comet in October by fifty percent, astronomical events like these as rare as they are those are some great odds...

Best of luck Everyone!
