The Celestron Origin Telescope is pretty amazing

I bought one about a month ago because my Celestron Evolution 9.25 Telescope can't see much through my Bortle 8 - 9 Polluted Skies but this Celestron Origin sees right through that junk without a problem.

Last night I took an 85 minute exposure of the Fireworks Galaxy which in Texas is almost directly overhead for 3 hours immediately after sunset. This is a small galaxy or is very far away or both so I cropped the picture. I am in awe of what this Telescope can do.

It truly is a Deep space savior for those stuck in light polluted areas. And it really makes Astrophotography simple. I really enjoy the ability to bring it outside and command it from inside the comfort of your own home. I was sitting back watching TV while watching the image grow on my tablet with each 15 second image it stacked.

This thing is amazing and Celestron knows it. I have been talking to them and they have big plans to expand this product line and the product features and options. I think there is so much more they can do with the AI software to improve it and add features. It clearly is fairly plain vanilla S/W giving you all the basics to conduct long exposure images of deep space objects. It track wonderfully considering it's not on a Equatorial Mount.

Did some Imaging around Orion in the early morning. I'm using Powerpoint to convert the Origin PNG image files to JPG so they are smaller for uploading here. All images were with the NBZ II Nebula Filter and have an approximate total exposure time of 40 to 45 minutes with no clouds, excellent transparency, and above average seeing in my Bortle 8 - 9 zone.

I'm curious if the Origin has an "Equatorial" mode where the rig could be placed on a wedge to allow for longer exposures?

It does not but Celestron says they are working on having it compatible with EQ mounts. Also, for those interested Celestron has created an email address for suggesting enhancements to the Origin. Please note this is note for Customer Service support to discuss problems. It's for requesting future modifications, options, and feature enhancements such as this one I gave them today:
Please add a way to pause a long exposure image, to change, add or remove a filter, re-focus then continue with the same long exposure image.

Here is an image of the Bubble Nebula with a 53 minute exposure and a NBZ II Filter. Interesting that the bubble is created by the solar wind of a nearby star.
