Unitron48 Double Star Observations

#1

Post by Unitron48 »

Attached is the pdf file of my observations of the 100 double stars included in the AL Double Star Observing Program. The majority were observed using my 4 inch Unitron refractor (102mm, f/15) on a manual alt-az mount (Universal Astronomics Unistar Deluxe), starting in October 2004.

Thanks, Andrey and Graeme! Doubles have been my primary target of interest since acquiring my first telescope, a 60 mm, f/15 Unitron in 1959. I was also very fortunate to have Dr James Mullaney as a mentor in my teenage years. He referred to double stars as the hidden gems of the night sky!

Thanks for your excellent double star reports 2000-2012!
The peak is in 2004 and 2005. You must have been very busy in those years.
They were mostly done with the heavy 102 mm Unitron. Quite impressive!
Congratulations with the TSS Double Star Visual 100 award!!
Chapeau!!
