One less Dark Sky preserve

Just heard that a dark sky preserve has been decertified. Not a lot of details but the committee found that encroaching development had brightened the sky enough for it to lose its status.

We need to preserve what we have. Have a look at https://darksky.org/ and share the information with neighbours, local authorities etc.

You can also consider doing a little bit of citizen science with https://globeatnight.org/

To get an idea of the light pollution around you, or at a site you are thinking of observing from have a look at

Thanks for the link to DarkSky.org. This looks to be an above board non-profit working hard on the goal of preserving our skies. Like Pitter I have the same question about the decertification.
