Talentcell on CGX mount

#1

Post by I Am Marsha »

Wasn't sure where to post this so I posted in 2 places.
I would like to use a talentcell on my cgx mount. Does anyone here do this? Where and how do you attach it?
Thanks
Marsha

Talentcell seems to be a brand of batteries. We would need more specifics on which model you are thinking about using if this is correct? And what do you mean by "attach it"? If can simply sit on the ground below the tripod and you would need to proper cable to connect it to the power input on the CGX.

Hello Marsha.

Good to see you back.

I've seen people mount batteries and mini PCs on a second dovetail bar on top of the telescope. That probably only works with an OAG setup so as not to get in the way of the guide scope.

I deleted your other post to keep replies in the same place.

If you aren't using the eyepiece holder (tripod leg separator), I use it as a 'tray' to place my power supply on. Add a bit of velcro pads so it doesn't slip off.

Any place you can attach the battery securely with velcro, tape, rubber band, etc. My AzGti mount has very small footprint so my talentcell just hangs on it suspended from a cord.

Thanks everyone. I found the perfect spot. No hanging cords and nothing under foot. Attached with a couple of bungee cords.
