New Image: Cederblad 214

Post by BigKahuna »

I shot this image of Cederblad 214 in Cepheus 2 years ago with my 8" SCT and Canon T6 w/ L-eNhanced Filter. The stacked image looked so bad I never processed it. Today I processed it and I liked it (even with the Canon Camera Banding in it). This was 60x 3 minutes of data. Stacked in DSS and processed in Pixinsight.

I still like it. The banding would put me off too - good for you, sticking with it.

Do you still use the Canon for imaging? Do you keep the SD card in place in the camera but download to a computer?

I was told many years ago when I used a Canon for imaging that I should remove the SD card if downloading to a computer because something "technical happens" causing the banding. Don't ask me what.

So I removed the card and I must say it improved considerably.

Carole, Yes. I kept the SD card inside the camera and used it to process when using the DSLR. I now own a ZWO 533MC Pro for capture. But if I use the Canon I will used the external memory and try it that way. Thank you for the info.
