New Image: M81 & M82

This turned into a 2 month project for me.

I started capturing data for this image back in the beginning of Febuary but as mother nature would have it, I didn't finish taking data for it until this past Thursday night. This is a HaRGB image of M81 & M82 galaxies. I ended up getting a little over 5 hours total integration time on it - 43 - 6 min subs in Ha and 14 - 5 min subs in RGB. After a little software glitch with PixInsight, I spent all day yesterday and this morning finishing it up.

Nice shot. It almost looks like you can see just a bit of the IFN in the background.

I don't think I got any of the IFN. If your talking about that bright area between the galaxies, I think that's local light pollution that got it in the image

Yes, the pink, or violet areas is the Ha regions in the galaxies.
