The International Astronomical Union's Minor Planet Center announced the three new moons on February 23rd : one around Uranus and two around Neptune. They are the faintest moons yet that ground-based telescopes have found orbiting the ice giants.
Just in time to help get more funding for the probe!
Amazing how this happens
Good that they have found them though, hopefully they will ask the public for names.
(Not the English though, they have a bad track record for suggesting names )

Interesting couple of esoteric unprovoked attacks on the English there! I wonder what's triggered our Lady?
Graeme
Unprovoked attacks?? Actually it is called humour...
The british public were asked to name a new science research vessel and they came up with Boaty McBoatface at 33% of the vote, this is after naming an owl Hooty McOwlface....
It was later appropriately named the RRS Sir David Attenborough though one of the submersibles was named Boaty McBoatface.
As I said already, I dread to think what they would name a probe.
Slovakia is no better.
A few years ago there was a new bridge built in Bratislava and the government opened the naming to the public.
Unfortunately the poll was not closed to people outside Slovakia nor did it limit the amount of times a person could vote.
The runaway name at the end of polling was Chuck Norris (because nobody crosses Chuck)
Officially it is named Most Slovenského národného povstania (Bridge of the Slovak National Uprising) but is usually referred to as the UFO bridge.

Yeah, I know, I was just messing about!
I expect Boaty McBoatface was proposed by and voted on by a very small number of people in a similar way the Bratislava bridge was named. It's the first I've heard of this.
It was good to see the image of Uranus and Neptune that they used had the correct, recently discovered, similar, colours.
