New Image: Lower's Nebula (SH2-261)

Post by BigKahuna »

Lower’s nebula (Sh2-261) is found on the outermost edge of our Milkyway between the Orion and Perseus arm of our Galaxy. Sh2-261 is a large faint region of predominantly ionized hydrogen. The nebula is named after Harold and Charles Lower who discovered this nebula in 1939. It is located 3000 light years from Earth.

This was 3.5 hours of 3 minute shots. This is the 3rd time I've attempted this dim object but this is the best results I've had. ED102 Telescope, ZWO 533MC Pro w/Duo Band Filter.
