Feb 26th 2024 Ca-K Sun
Hey all, I hope Monday is treating you well
After a frigid weekend it was again unseasonably warm today. This morning when I left at 6AM it was 1C (33F). Today when I got in at 3:30 it was this:
Unfortunately, the clear skies I had this morning turned into this when I got in:
I'm stubborn. Hey, the sky is somewhat clear, it takes me not even 5 minutes to set all this up, and what better time to have a beer?
I took 5 sets of 2000 frames, the fourth actually had a quality graph that wasn't flat in AS3. I'll go with that
AR3950 is one of the largest spots I've ever seen, and the four to the left are lined up nicely. And the one to the left of those four will probably be AR3596. Just guessing
AR3590 is actually bigger than Uranus and Neptune side by side:
All considering what with the sky, I'm very happy I gave this a try. What I don't get is why? My skies were literally hazy crap when I did this, yet it turned out OK. And the clear days, it's like a struggle it seems sometimes to get a decent stack.
I was going to do some white light, but I thought not to push it. Besides, the skies were getting worse and I have a few things to do tonight. One is to pack up some stuff for a fellow solarhead on here
Alrighty my friends, I shall leave ye all be. Have a good and hopefully clear night!

Nice catching, I would agree sizewize 3590 is massive...
Cool you caught some more frames of it, a region to remember for sure.

Excellent images again Mark. The
I'm quite sure I've never seen a Sun spot as big either. And I'm definitely sure I've never seen a thermometer that goes down to -50°C!
All the best to all Solarheads and aspiring Solarheads!
