Earth Shine

Here's the Moon from 12/02/24. The Sun had only just dropped below the horizon and the Lunar Earth shine was easily visible. So I thought I would have a go at capturing it.

I'll try a two panel next time!

I tried the exact same thing that night with my homemade 60mm "Towatron" and DSLR.

Add me as a third person on that list! I was out taking similar shots the same evening! One picture was a composite, which I already posted. The other is a shot of the earthshine, which I will probably get around to posting in a day or two. It is interesting to know that we had people from the UK, Canada and Illinois all out watching the same moon. It is also interesting to watch the similarities in our shots and differences in our styles. Thanks for posting.

I often think about it as the Sun is setting and I'm starting to get set up for a deep space target and the Moon is looking well placed and photogenic!

I saw your post Rob. It's a fine shot. The differences in our styles is interesting. I did a video in ASI Cap. But I should have used Sharp Cap, it has more features. My fps was in the 20s because it was recording a full frame as an SER video.
