Telerscope Camera Lens

#1

Post by Joseduddy »

Hello my name is Jose Duddy and I am new to this forum and astrophotography. I have an issue that requires someone with more knowledge. i am starting with the following: Celestron NextStar 4SE/ 4" Dia / 1325 Focal length /Celestron Red dot laser finderscope / Celestron wifi dongal / 25mm Plossl Lens / 2X Barlo Lens / RoHS WiFi Telescope Camera. Fully computerized GoTo SkyAlign Tripod Mount.
Here is my issue, see Moon photos attached. I cant seam to find a way to sharp focus the lens camera to take pictures. With out the camera lens my focus is awesome. Do i need to change the 25mm lens(That I might be beyond my limit). Thanks to everyone who responds. Hoping to learn a lot from this forum.

Thanks Again Jose Duddy

Hi Jose, welcome to TSS! I haven't any experience with your camera; is this the night vision version? As for posting pics, you'll need five posts for that. Make some comments or respond to others; then you can post pictures.

All the best,
Mark

So you are shooting through the eyepiece to image? (A-Focal imaging)
Can you put the camera directly into the barlow lens then insert the barlow into the focuser?
A link to your camera?

...so try just the camera without its lens, use the telescope as the lens?
Binoculars; Celestron Skymaster 18-40 X 80 zoom, Bushnell7-15 X 35 zoom, a couple of older single speed Bushnells that ride around in the car for weather spotting clarification
Scopes; Tiny little Mak-Cass Celestron c90 spotter scope that lets me count the moons of Jupiter and with which I can see Saturns rings in Mickey Mouse phase
Old Meade 1000mm f/11 that was missing the finder scope and ring so I rigged one onto the barrel using duct tape and a bit of cardboard and that actually works and I can count the moons of Jupiter with this one too.
Meade 6" reflector,(really elderly), found at a yard sale, the tube is a bucket of rust and corroded mirror but the mount and tripod will be recoverable so hooray for that.
Cameras; Mamiya medium format 645 with a couple of polaroid backs and a series of wide angle to 50mm lenses
Konica-Minolta 35mm,Sony alpha dslr's, up to the a900 full frame, mostly got them used because I don't have much money.

Hi Jose!
Welcome to TSS.

This appears to be the camera you purchased correct?

https://www.temu.com/rechargeable-1500- ... 3eowlw3owf

Judging from your images it appears you are using the camera by clamping it on to the back of an eyepiece. My suggestion would be to remove the eyepiece and try to attach the camera directly to the extension where the eyepiece would normally fit in to the telescope. (basically removing the eyepiece from the equation.) Give that a try during the day pointing towards a distant object (power pole, tree etc etc) and lets see what you get.

Scopes: Explore Scientific ED80CF, Skywatcher 200 Quattro Imaging Newt, SeeStar S50 for EAA.

Eyepieces: a few.
Primary software: Cartes du Ciel, N.I.N.A, StarTools V1.4.
