Can humans be trusted with anything?

Watched the 2008 remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, a reminder we're just temporary custodians.
Just call me Geoff....

I do what I do because I can, and because I want to.
It doesn't mean I know what I'm doing

Here we go...
"Navajo Nation president asks NASA to delay Moon launch over possible human remains"
https://www.knau.org/knau-and-arizona-n ... an-remains
"Nygren wants the launch delayed and the tribe consulted immediately. He noted the Moon is sacred to numerous Indigenous cultures and that depositing human remains on it is “tantamount to desecration.”
Sigh. For all my life, I have hoped and envisioned that man's advancement to other worlds would represent the opening of a new and better chapter in human history, in which we could finally bury our petty earthly squabbles and unite to explore (and build upon) the endless resources of the universe, enriching us all. Well... I guess not. Or maybe they just never heard of the song?
