Bonus online astro quiz

Post by OzEclipse »

Hi Everybody,

Here's a bonus online quiz. This link popped up in my Facebook feed.

Most of the Q's are pretty easy. I scored 55 out of 60.

Hi there Joe,

I tried the link to the quiz on my phone and I don't think that the link took me to the right place. None of the questions were related to astronomy (mostly American government) and at question 30, I quit.

I clicked the link on my desktop pc and my antivirus flagged it and won't let it open.

I run two anti-viral / malware programs on my laptop and had no issues going to the link. I know most of those programs can give false positives from time to time. I took the quiz and scored 51 of 60. I missed some I shouldn't have, but that is the way it goes!

Hi Jim,
Sorry and I'm not sure what happened. All the questions when I followed that link were either pure astronomy or there were some questions about spacecraft solar system exploration. None were about American government.

This is typical of the questions behind that link:

I do a lot of online quizzes on a variety of subjects. My malware screening didn't show up any problems with this.

I tried again on my phone and got to the right quiz.
The format was the same, but I must have touched the wrong quiz.
I got the warning on my desktop. Alan is right. It must have been a false positive.

Sorry if I caused you any trouble.

Btw, I only scored a 41 on the quiz, so I am at the bottom of the pack (again)!

Thanks a bunch Joe!
Hi Jim,

One of the downsides of being TSS quiz master is that I never get to take the quiz...well there's no point because I know all the answers. I do take my quizzes after I first post and each time I do an edit just to make sure everything is working but it's no fun when you know the answers, it's just a mechanical exercise. So I really enjoyed this one. Glad to hear I didn't send everyone to a malware site.

cheers

Joe

Hi Michael,
I've got some bad news....there's 60 questions not 50 so you got 47/60 (78%) not 47/50(94%).
Nevertheless, 78% is much more than a pass mark.

cheers
