Hello Bill,

this is a very precise and helpful review of the ZEISS binoviewer.

The combination of the beam splitter cube with the mirrors avoids too much light path through the glass prisms,
and herewith the risk that the refracor optics will be too much overcorrected.
And this has been the reason for this binoviewer design, even if technically more complicated than the full prismatic binoviewers.

Great review Bill!

I also saw your review of Baader Maxbright II on Cloudy Nights and it sounds like you were happy with their performance two. Considering larger clear aperture of Maxbright II and the fact that both Maxbright II and Zeiss can reach focus in your scopes without GPCs, what in your opinion would justify over 2x higher price tag for Zeiss?
