New Member (2 years a member)
I joined about a year or more ago but haven't posted until now. I own two different telescopes: a Coulter Odyssey 10.1" f/ 4.5 blue tube and a Meade LX200GPS 10" f/ 10. My Coulter many years ago accidentally got wet during a severe thunderstorm which I had no control of trying to keep it dry unfortunately. Eventually I want to repair the box around the tube as that part expanded so its hard to fit in it's cradle. The cradle is fine. I'm hoping to get some helpful information on how to repair it as I want to use it again.

Well all I can think of is to maybe disassemble the box and take some wood off the edges using a saw and then put it back together. Or maybe you could make a new box using 1/2" plywood.

I'm not familiar with that scope, but it appears the box is made from particle board. Do you have some basic woodworking tools? You should be able to take some dimensions and build a new one.
