Craters in high resolution with 625 mm and QHY3III678M September 7, 2023

Post by Luc CATHALA »

Hello
Finally, for months now, there have been conditions allowing images to be produced with 625 mm and the new QHY5II678M which is much more efficient in IR than the QHY5III178M that I used before. The sensor has more pixels (3856X2180 versus 3072X2048) which are a little smaller (2µm versus 2.4 µm). At full resolution I shoot at 43 images/sec, with Sharpcap on my E disk (SSD) I record them live while on the D (SSD too) the buffer comes into action.
here are the first 12 images processed out of the 26 made.
The resolution on some images is well below 500m.
Clear skies. Luc

Zowie! Your pics are comparable to the pics in my Clementine lunar orbiter atlas. Very impressive!

Awesome photos. If you have room for another passenger on your space craft that got these gorgeous photos, I’ll go.
