A guide to observing Saturn with a telescope.
This is a article taken from the Partick Moore series that was posted in "Sky at night magazine".
It's pretty useful for both beginners and the more experienced observer.
Hope you find it of use.

Saturn will be at opposition this weekend!
Hopefully you will have clear skies to enjoy this magnificent planet and it's rings.

I wonder which filters are good for Saturn? You would need to knock the magnification down otherwise a filter would make the planet look very dim.

@Aratus
The best visual filter for Saturn is no filter since it is such a low contrast object, a eyepiece with a warm tone can slightly enhance the planet (TeleVue plossl) while a cool tone can enhance the rings (Vixen plossl)
Occasionally a 80A (very light blue) filter will bring out a subtle bit of contrast.
Some people use a #11 yellow but I have not found it to provide any benefit for visual.
