Also, I live on the border of Thames Alluvium and the North Downs Chalk as described in the article! We did that erosion causing the North and South Downs thing at school! 😀

Good article. That quote pops up constantly on social media but makes a lot more sense now in context.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
