New Image: Venus 04/26/2023
I was out last night photographing Venus with my setup plus a 3x barlow lens and an Orion Starshoot USB eyepiece camera II. I got two 30 second captures, then went in for the night.
Today, I processed one of the captures with AS3. After stacking, I ran it through Registax.
The result is the best photo of Venus I ever took.
Not bad, in my opinion. Next I want to try Mercury with this setup, then Mars at next opposition.

A difficult target, but you got a great pic! Very impressive; thanks for the share

I actually disagree about the fact that Venus is a difficult target. Yes, it’s bright. Yes, it is hard to adjust exposure to get a good picture. Yes, it’s hard to get it into the center of theThefatkitty wrote: ↑Fri Apr 28, 2023 1:12 am A difficult target, but you got a great pic! Very impressive; thanks for the share
Now Mercury, that’s what I have major problems getting a good picture of, because it’s so close to the sun. I need to wait for just the right time of year and clear conditions to just see it.
Mars is the same for me. I need to wait for opposition and clear conditions to get a good picture.
Just out of curiosity, why do you say that Venus is a difficult target?
I’m just curious.
Jared.

Hi Jared, well maybe I should have been more specific; it's a difficult target for me I've never had much luck with it, and you got a great capture.
Again, well done
