NGC 4945 (ESO 219-24, PGC 45279 and many others) is a seyfert 2 galaxy located approximately 11.3 million light-years away in Centaurus.
Luminance – 6x300s and 10x600s – 130 minutes – binned 1x1 RGB – 6x300s and 10x600s – 130 minutes each – binned 1x1
520 minutes total exposure – 8 hours 40 minutes
Imaged over thirteen nights in 2021 and 2022 at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile) with a FLI PL 9000 on a PlaneWave CDK24 at f/6.5 3974 mm.
Hi Dan. A superb NGC 4945 image in LRGB light remotely using the facilities at the El Sauce Observatory (Rio Hurtado, Chile), especially on the flickr site. Excellent contrast and lots of details on this galaxy with the large telescope. Thanks for sharing this capture with us Dan and I hope to see more of your work again soon.
