finally helios at last ...

helios at last .

I was able to see the sun.
today was a great day.
no clouds on the horizon.
I noticed the blue of the sky and I said to myself that perhaps the sky was conducive to looking at it.

so I decided to take out my good old televue with my solar wedge apm.
I quickly realized that the sky was incredibly transparent and calm.
very very little turbulence.

I forget some terms in English from what I could see.

the sunspots were very defined, as the penumbra was very distinct from the rest.
it was separated in one place by a bridge of light.
I had never seen this phenomenon before.

I saw like rice on the surface at the edge of the sun as well as lines whiter than the rest of the sun.

I must say that the apm solar wedge lived up to my expectations and even more.
I could see the difference that some had told me about, which really differs from glass or sheet filters.

I was also very surprised by the svbony 7-21 zoom because of the sharpness of the image.

the temperature was -2 celsius, 28 fahrenheit.
a very light wind.
to sum up a great day under the sun .

Very nice solar viewing report!
I’m not into solar, but it sounds like a very enjoyable session.
I might have to look into solar someday since I get occasional sun and few clear nights.
The sun is definitely an awe inspiring sight. The power and beauty are amazing.
When I see awesome images like geethq posted recently, I get overwhelmed by the awesomeness of what is happening there.

Good that you could finally try out the Herschel wedge.
The resolution is quite amazing compared to films and glass, seeing the surface granulation is quite amazing.
