New Image: Winter Cluster Wrap-up

#1

Post by sdbodin »

Final batch of the winter season open cluster images. Seemed more easily visible as clusters in a wide field setting, the can't see the forest for the trees syndrome, if too magnified. Along with the prior posts of Hyades, M35/36/37/38/44/45/46/47 this addition of M41/48/50/67/93 makes for bakers dozen plus one of the winter nights.

All thru Rokinon 135f2 telephoto at f2.8 with ASI 1600MC-cool w/IR cut filter, 20/1 min, no darks, flats, bias, guiding, only raw stack. All cropped about 50% and 60% full size.

Clear skies,
Steve
Scopes; Meade 16 LX200, AT80LE, plus bunch just sitting around gathering dust

Hi Steve. A nice gallery of winter open cluster images. Excellent contrast on all and my favorite one is your M67 (King Cobra) cluster. Thanks for sharing these with us on here Steve and I the best of wishes for a great spring season of imaging now.

I'm not really a "cluster person" but these are really neat. Images like these tend to bring home to me the vastness of space. Which of course we dont really have the capacity to fully understand or visualise.
Scope: Skywatcher Evostar 80ED (SW 0.85 FR/FF) on a SW NEQ6Pro
Guiding; SW Evoguide 50ED, ASI 120mm mini

Camera: ASI2600MC pro. QHY 163M with ZWO 7nm NB filters, Canon EOS700D astro mod
