First Images with the TEC APO 200 FL

#1

Post by bernhardhubl »

Hello astrophotographers,

By lucky circumstances I can currently work with a dream optic, a TEC APO 200 FL (fluorite refractor with 200mm aperture).

Unfortunately, the last few months at my location have been very difficult in terms of clear nights and seeing. Therefore, the following images are exposed shorter than I would have wished. However, the results are very convincing, so I don't want to withhold the images from you.

M 33 with TEC200FL + Nikon Z6 (100% resolution and full field)

M39 with TEC200FL + Nikon Z6

NGC 6940 with TEC200FL + Nikon Z6

I also managed to take a snapshot of the Mars occultation on 2023-12-08 (near horizon):

In the coming galaxy season I will use a QHY268 on the TEC200. I am very curious what will be feasible once the seeing will be really good. A small foretaste is this image:

Nice images Bernhard! The M33 image is wonderfully detailed.

Congrats on your work with the TEC 200FL. Must be a real treat to work with that monster scope (but I don't think I could lift it).

Hello Tony, Jean-Yves, Jim, starfield, Jeff, Marius, Jim, Jockinireland and all others,

Thank you very much for your nice words and all likes!
Must be a real treat to work with that monster scope (but I don't think I could lift it).
I was surprised that the mass of the TEC 200 FL is only 23kg. So, not too heavy for a scope of this size.

best,
Bernhard

Hi Bernhard. A very nice gallery of objects on the astrophoton site with the 200mm fluorite apo refractor. They are all beautiful, but like the other posters, my favorite is M33 (Triangulum Galaxy). Thanks for sharing these captures with us Bernhard and looking forward to seeing more astrophotos through this amazing telescope.
