AZ-EQ5 Vs EQ6-R Power Questions
Hello all,
My new batteries have power meters on them and show in real time how many watts are being pulled. Any idea why the AZ-EQ5 would pull 11 watts just sitting and the EQ6-R only pulls 2? I always had to dedicate a battery to the AZ-EQ5, now I understand why. Should it be pulling that much power?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Clear Skies,
Chris

Re: AZ-EQ5 Vs EQ6-R Power Questions
I've read that it's a power pig. One person wired two batteries in series then a DIY project for a stepdown transformer from 24v to 14.5 and has had no issues now for at least the last several years. Supposedly the 10amp car port on my battery is regulated, we'll see.
Clear Skies,
Chris

Re: AZ-EQ5 Vs EQ6-R Power Questions
Just saw this post now. I own (2) of the AZ-EQ5 mounts... have not noticed excessive power consumption.
Next time out, I will look in my Pegasus Powerbox dashboard and see what the actual amperage draw is.

Re: AZ-EQ5 Vs EQ6-R Power Questions
Since I put the AZ-EQ5 on a regulated DC port, I haven't had any issues with it...
