Venus and Jupiter

OK, I'm not a beginner, although I am a beginner at using 'phones for astrophotography. I'm not showing off, although I was pleased with the result but just wanted to share it here to show beginners what can be done on a budget.

I tried snapping Venus and Jupiter with my phone, more in hope than expectancy. I reduced the ISO settings, as well as the controls allowed me to and ended up with something approaching DSLR quality, after a bit of adjustment in GIMP.

Hi Philip. This is a nice image of Venus and Jupiter using just your Samsung A13 phone camera. The two planets stand out nicely in the capture on the flickr site. Thanks for sharing this with us Philip and what the phone cameras can do nowadays is just amazing.

You are absolutely correct Philip. Modern mobile phone cameras give excellent quality results.

I don't do AP so have not used my phone for astronomy, but you have just shown what can be achieved if you don't have access to telescopes or binoculars.

Thanks, Vanessa. Not everyone has a big budget and beginners are not keen to fork out a lot of money on a hobby they might not stick to. TBH, I still prefer my DSLR but am starting to experiment with phone cameras, as it might help beginners.
