Thank you for responding my friend !
I can totally relate to that I also notice what a difference in finding them when it’s a new moon or the moon is rising really late like past midnight or so because that’s about how long my eyes can stay open lol!😁

Thank you so much you always have a kind word for me and believe me this Forum inspires me.
I really do think in a lot of ways that if I had not joined this Forum that I would not be enjoying stargazing as much as I am.

Hi Frank old buddy. Sorry to come in late but Sheri and I have had health issues most of this last week. This is a great report from you using your 10" Dob telescope and it was a pleasure to read. By the way, did you also spot open cluster NGC 2423 (magnitude 6.7) near M47? Thanks for your excellent report Frank, keep up the great work, and congratulations on receiving the much deserved TSS VROD Award.

I am so glad to hear from you I was wondering where you have been I hope you and your wife are both feeling better?
To answer your question no I did not but tonight it is going to be cold but clear and with NO moon so I’m excited to see what I can find and I will add that to my list.
I am going to try to revisit that area to try to see the gas cloud in one of those clusters M46 and NGC 2348 that I was informed about by KT4HX .
Again I hope you are both feeling better and Believe me you were conspicuous by your absence. Your friend Frank
