You bet!

I had not looked at the Sun in quite some time, now.

So, today (Thursday) I set up a scope with white light filter. With it, numerous sunspots could be seen, one group even resembling a Pacific island chain.

But in Hydrogen-alpha, Sol was spectacular! I grabbed two neighbors off the street to see what was happening.

Hi NG. That is a nice setup that you engineered. Some amateurs just put up a tarp to cover their observing setup but this is really cool as you can adjust it to follow the sun during your observation session. Ole Sol is really heating up now and the active region count is now up to AR3221 as of this morning. Thanks for your nice photos NG and I am glad that you got to share the views with a couple of your neighbors too.
