Clear Sky Chart Thumbnail In Sig

#1

Post by JayTee »

Hi All,

It has been so long since I touched my signature that I've forgotten how to correctly post the URL that shows my Clear Sky Chart for my new obsy.

Does anyone out there remember?

Thanks,

I'm not sure but you should be able to edit your current sig and see the formatting.

Greg,

The current forecast in my sig is by "Clear Outside" the guys associated with First Light Optics. Here's the link:
https://clearoutside.com/forecast/47.79 ... iew=midday

I'm trying to embed the forecast from Clear Sky Charts. Here's the link:
https://www.cleardarksky.com/c/RmrckObIDkey.html

The embedding procedure shows different characters used based on which site you are referencing.

I'll either figure it out or get bored with trying and come back to it later (maybe 2024!)

For anyone else looking for help to do this let me explain:

1. The small colored indicators in both mine and JayTees signature block is an indicator of our personal skycharts for our area. If you click on them it will take you to the webpage for our personal charts. Note that mine is for Cottonwood, AZ and JayTees is for Hayden, ID. Unfortunately these charts are only for North American locations. If you would like to add one to your signature here's how.

2. Go to the main Clear Sky Chart Homepage: https://www.cleardarksky.com/csk/ and you can enter your location in one of a two of ways either map, position.
Once you have your location you will see your current conditions.

3. To add your map info to your signature do the following: Scroll down the page and find the "May I put the Chart on my web page?" area. They give you two options for displaying your chart. I suggest the "simplified thumbnail" version as it doesn't crowd the signature area. The code they furnish should look like this:

As furnished by Clear Sky:

<a href=https://www.cleardarksky.com/c/***********.html>
<img src="https://www.cleardarksky.com/c/**************"></a>

With modifications:

NOTE: you will need to change the ****************** to the information provide by Clear Sky for your location.
