It's beginning to look like something as simple as dust is going to be an obstacle on any surface we can put a spacecraft on for any extended period of exploration.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.

Yes maybe some sort of blower like a leaf blower to remove it after every dust storms.
I was on a site I think it was the nasa all things Mars site where they had an actual recording of a dust storm it was weird listening ing to it !
Gee if I had known there was so much to see I would have started decades ago !
