Wrong direction

Hi there

If this in the image is not set right can your scope point to the total opposite direction?

Hi Rhoda

That looks like the altitude adjustment. If it's not right, your polar alignment is off and guiding will suffer. It's adjusted when you polar align.

While I've never had either of my sky watcher eq mounts slew opposite because altitude isn't set correctly, I supposed it could happen depending on how close your target is to its meridian.

I spoke to David and I have it set to north Spain it's supposed to be 52 I think this is the problem I will try it if it still happens I will get a new mount.

Depending on where you live in Jolly Ol' England, your latitude (altitude scale) should be somewhere between 51 and 54°N. Also, make sure you are selecting EQ North when you do your goto alignment.
