Hundreds report seeing a bright fireball in northeastern U.S.

I watched this as I drove home in East Central Illinois. It began about 20 drgrees above the western horizon. It lasted until it was only a few degrees above the horizon. It had a medium length tail approximately 5° long traveling north along the horizon and down at an angle of about 30° .
I did not know what I was seeing but I noted these details. This post revealed to me what I had observed.
