A quick grab at the moon

#1

Post by Don Quixote »

I went out tonight with my granddaughter, Anja.
We mounted the Meade LXD75 on my CG4 mount for a quick look-see at the moon.
We were not out long but she got a kick out of the view.
When she finished blinding her right eye with the concentrated moonlight I put my cell phone in a bracket mounted on the TV 22Pan and snapped a few snaps through the 8 inch scope
Clavius was the best I could get in a quick fashion.

Peace and clear skies to you all. :-)

I was fortunate in my timing on this outing. The air was very calm with almost no ripple in the image so it was relatively easy to get reasonable focus. I also benefited from the use of a remote trigger for the camera.
