This looks like a great starter (and beyond) telescope for a very friendly price. I don't know if the link works and is the same everywhere, I had to enter my zip code to get the link.

A nice looking package, the link worked for me but does not show a price just a set of dashes instead.

Here is the explore scientific website price for that same scope. $650.00 so that’s a savings of $50.00

I was going to say, "That's pre-pandemic pricing, and possibly a bit before that", however, only $50 less. Still, it's a good buy.
"Look, son! Up there!" His son shouted back, "I see it! What is it?" The father regaled, "The galaxy! Andromeda! Our origin, our destiny!" And so the boy was hooked, and for the rest of his natural life.

My point was not to compare it with Explore Scientific's price that is also a good buy. Nowadays a 10" Dob usually costs $900 or more and the collapsible ones or the ones with trusses are over $1000. This is more than $400 less so if the telescope is good, and the reviews look OK, it's a good buy. Explore Scientific is known for good value, and when they make a deal with Costco they can shave a other $50 off the price.

To reiterate what Henk said this is a great deal for $599. For example my Z10 cost $499 with free shipping back in 2012 - so a full decade ago. To get a scope sort of in the same ballpark as far as price goes is a very attractive offer, plus ES Dobs have been out for a few years now and I've heard they have ironed out some of the mechanical issues that some reviewers talked about in the first generation of scopes.

I routinely suggest a 10" f/5, and over an 8" f/6, after all. Then, it is remarkable that Costco is offering the kit in the first place.

Is the minimum membership fee, $60 I believe, required to order the kit from their site online?

EDIT: Belay that, as non-members can purchase the kit online, although with 5% tacked onto, $30 approximately, but with free shipping.
