M45 Pleiades

#1

Post by KathyNS »

Here is an old favourite, the Pleiades. It is mostly a test of my newly-cleaned mirror. I think I need to tweak the collimation a tad, but there is a lot more detail than in the version I attempted earlier in the week with a dirty mirror. I would have gotten more of the 300s luminance frames, but I was shooting late in the night to avoid moonlight and ran out of time before dawn.

Looks like cleaning the mirror worked a treat. Once again, beautiful star colours and an overall lovely image.

Wonderful image! Well done! It seems that is a good mirror and the telescope is very well collimated (the diffraction rays are so sharp! ).

Nice image Kathy!
The stars are nice and sharp!
I find myself in need of a good mirror cleaning as well. Do you have any advice?

Hi Kathy. A wonderful image of M45 (Pleiades or Seven Sisters). It is my favorite DSO and you did a great job with it. A nice framing, star field, contrast, and great nebulosity colors and details (including Merope) in your capture. Thanks for posting this work on here Kathy and I may print this one to hang on the wall here.
