On Tuesday, November 1 at 9:41 a.m. ET, Falcon Heavy launched the USSF-44 mission into a geosynchronous Earth orbit from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The mission is expected to deploy two spacecraft payloads directly into geosynchronous orbit, one of which is the military's TETRA 1 microsatellite. The Falcon Heavy's two side boosters will land at SpaceX's Landing Zones 1 and 2 (LZ-1 and LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. This was the first launch and landing of these Falcon Heavy side boosters, which will be prepared for re-flight on a future U.S. Space Force mission later this year.
