Unboxing pictures ...OR

.
Ok.. I log stuff... a lot of you guys do to.
.
So , Digital , I can always delete the pictures I don't want , ...Light , angle , whatever , I eventually edit.
.
So instead of UNboxing pictures , they were more about poor packing , product "Shift" (first clue)

Parts not in their place , (second clue)

Hmmm, Just not NEW

This was from Amazon ,

I'm thinking of trying B&H
.
Still gotta drop this off first , and finish the refund.
.
Did I just hear of a problem like this with B&H too ?
.
I don't want to see two layers of tape on this next one.
.
In these pictures , the part that is missing from the packing...Is on the scope.

Aw, crap! That is so disappointing!!!

I was an Amazon fan from a long time ago. I still am, but recently decided not to purchase “major” items from them. I simply don’t trust them anymore.

I’ve had similar experiences as you, but nowhere near the cost as your scope (or should I say “their” scope). I’ve found that you can get similar pricing elsewhere (like B&H) from a quality vendor with good credentials. They are as easy as it gets to return items though, but other companies are getting pretty close. Piece of mind!

I bought mine directly from Explore Scientific in 2016. Great customer service and good dealing with a sales rep on the phone. I don’t know if that avenue is still available, but I highly recommend.

Whenever you do get the scope, I’m sure that you will enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine. I must admit though, since I bought the Sharpstar 61 last year, it is my scope of choice for AP. Not the best for small targets (like most galaxies), but it’s so small, easy, and fast (f4.5). It’s nice to have several scopes though as many of us do.

Good luck with your pursuit! Keep us posted!
Jim

I have seen so many similar stories from that same site.
I hope you get the refund and recommend purchasing from specialized shops.

I've bought many, many items from B&H and have never had this or any other similar issues. It is usually a toss-up when buying some gear, do I use B&H or Adorama, hmmm?

Cheers,

When I bought it from Amazon , I thought it was from the company , not a dealer.
.
I haven't had any problem with B&H... Usually they ship fast.

I think Amazon "Dirties" shipping if you're not a Prime Member... Just saying.
.
The scope will be re ordered once the refund stuff is complete,

Meanwhile , tomorrow my Starsense Alien is coming.

The computer will start to be part of the telescope .

I should start finding some targets soon... even with a paper towel roll on the mount.

( Or the 6" Orion )
.
Gotta Fly...
.
PS Juno... Piece out
I was up ALL night , then it dawned on me...
