I had two period of clear skies last week, both early morning. I decided to do an easy one with my old trusty C8 SCT.

C8 SCT on EQ-G with Fuji X-A1 (modded iso3200 with Dualband filter) Bortle 8 skies

Really cool colors and nice details. Nice stars too!

I notice a pattern throughout the image going up and left. Walking noise?

Hi Joe - Nice closeup capture.
I think Jim is correct. It looks like "walking noise" to me also. It is common with DSLR images that are collected without any dithering. Are you dithering?

What I try to do is take one set of the shots in one position and then, the following night, take the second set in a slightly different position.

But this time around, I had only one night of clear skies. Since we are still early, I'll get a chance sooner or later this season.

I never learned how to do dithering mainly because I never figured out how to coordinate the timing of the intervalometer of the FujiX-A1 with the PHD2 controlling the mount.
