Interesting, I thought the first loophole-free experiment was done by Hanson from Delft UT. That was big news at the time. Apparently, Zeilinger did it 2 months later in a different way.

Because of the struggles of our football team on offense, particularly against Notre Dame and Washington State the past couple of weeks I joked that Clauser be hired to run a quantum offense at Cal. Doing so would make the team the first in major college football 🏈 to have a Nobel Laureate on staff.

Gotta love the way AP describes photons:
"...They demonstrated that unseen particles, such as photons, can be linked, or “entangled,” with each other even when they are separated by large distances."
In my own humble experience, photons are the only particles that we actually can see!
(p.s. Yes, yes, I know they didn't mean it quite the way that I interpreted it there. I'm just enjoying their amusing phrasing.)
