The Absence Of Color

#1

Post by JayTee »

Whenever and wherever I set up a tripod for a telescope mount, I always put rubber furniture pads underneath the feet. I do this in an effort to dampen any vibrations that may arise. One of our standard setup tips that we profess here on the forums is to mark where your tripod feet go. This makes for easier setup next time you use your tripod.

In an effort to heed my own advice, I decided to mark where my rubber pads go for my EQ6 mount so that it is pointed North during my setup routine. In an effort to be as precise as possible, I didn't want to lift these rubber pads up and potentially miss mark from where I lifted them, even a little bit. So I decided, wait a second, what if I just spray white paint over them.

Now I have near perfect circles of no paint / color where those rubber furniture pads are supposed to be set up.

I hope my wife doesn't yell at me after she sees what I've done.

The evidence!

Great idea! Here's hoping for continued marital harmony.
