Pickering's Triangle

Taken two nights ago… 65 x 300 sec. with ASI533MC L-enhance filter on the ED102 triplet. Transparency was great to start but went to crap around 3am when fog moved in and I had to throw away 2hrs of data. Now that the meridian flip issues have been resolved in the AVX / Ekos software, I can image a target for more than a few hours a night.

Wow, and not only for the image. I think you have maxxed out the powers of an AVX. I would guess that less than 1% of AVX users get reliable results doing a meridian flip. I would even venture to guess that less than 10% have even tried.

Thanks Joe… the meridian flip issue was caused from setting DST in the mount AND in the software. I turned daylight savings time off in the mount and relied on the software and it has worked flawlessly since. I avoided flips in the past because it always flopped!

I did a mosaic two years with the ED102 but this time wanted get longer exposures on the each object in the Veil. Struggled with this at the time. I would like to do at least two panels on the East, Western and Pickering as they don't quite fit in the frame and are cut off. If we get some clear soon, I am going to try.
